A full-time social worker position is available at an elementary school in Clinton Township, MI, serving students five days a week throughout the current school year. This contract role focuses on providing comprehensive social work services directly in the school environment to support student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-school social work services addressing student behavioral and emotional needs
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and external agencies to develop and implement support plans
- Identify and leverage resources within and outside the school system to assist students and families
- Maintain clear and professional communication both verbally and in writing
- Manage a caseload of elementary-level students, providing ongoing assessment and intervention
Qualifications:
- Masters degree from a State Board of Education-approved graduate social work program required
- Temporary or full school social work approval from the Michigan Department of Education required
- Familiarity with the role and responsibilities of a school-based social worker required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively with others
- Previous experience as a school social worker preferred
- Skilled in connecting families with appropriate community resources preferred
